While serving his country in the Air Force he was stationed in Oklahoma, California and Texas plus many countries overseas Germany, Spain, North Africa, Iceland to name a few. He also served in the Vietnam War. He retired from the Airforce in 1975 after 20 years as an E-6 Tech Sargent. He had a lot of flying time in many different aircrafts over the 20-year span and had a few stories to go along with them. He told a story about being in a crash landing of a plane in California once while an episode of the hit TV show Lassie was being filmed and the motion picture crew wasn’t very happy. After retirement the family moved back to Ponca City in 1975. He worked as a house painter, and a garage door installer for a short time before hiring on at Titus.
