Barbara Jean Spells passed away in Enid on Friday, November 15, 2019, at the age of 73. She was born on June 15, 1946 in Ponca City to Allen and Bertha (Ratliff) Goldsmith. Barbara grew up in Ponca City with her five brothers and sisters. She attended school in the Ponca City Public Schools and graduated from Po-Hi in 1964.
Barbara lived in Ponca City for 61 years before moving to Enid, where she spent her last 12 years. Barbara loved her family, specially her grandbabies. Her greatest joy was raising her family. When she wasn’t busy with family, Barbara could often be found reading scriptures from her Bible.
Barbara is survived by her children, Tamala Goldsmith, Tony Goldsmith, Allen Goldsmith, Darien Goldsmith, Carlton Dewberry and Gregory Dewberry, grandchildren, Shanell Golay, Jose Herrera, Zamirah Goldsmith, Zanavea Goldsmith, Corey McChristian, Allison Arecheiga, Alika Monger, Makiah Dewberry, Mya Dewberry and Derek Logsdon, great grandchildren, Alivia Golay, Asja Moore, Veronica Herrera, Jose Herrera, Jr., Issac Herrera, Ayden Graham, Bentleigh McChristian and Mila Price, siblings, Roy Goldsmith, Troy Goldsmith, Ana Jean Goldsmith and Sherry Moore, aunt, Armethas Mildred Brown, as well as a host of family, friends, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by parents, Allen and Bertha Goldsmith and brother, Thurman Goldsmith.
A Memorial Service will be held in Barbara’s honor starting at 2pm at the Attucks Community Center, 1001 S 12th street, Ponca City with Gary Brown presiding.
