Carl Dwayne “Wayne” Brock, 65, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Wayne was born on October 21, 1960 in Blackwell, Oklahoma. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Thelma and Buddy Popplewell, and his father and stepmother, Carl and Rosa Lea Brock.

On September 22, 1981, Wayne married the love of his life, Barbara Bryant. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and countless cherished memories.

Wayne was a proud graduate of Newkirk High School. He spent many years working as a chef’s assistant at the Ponca City Country Club before discovering his talent as a carpenter, a profession in which he took great pride.

He found joy in the simple things in life—fishing, hunting with his coon dogs, playing the guitar, and making memories with those he loved. More than anything, Wayne treasured time spent with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, who brought him endless happiness.

Wayne is survived by his children, Joseph Brock and Nikki Barton an husband Bob Barton. His cherished grandchildren, Kenneth Brock, Matthew Brock, Aubriana Barton, and Lyric Barton; his siblings, Lewis Brock, Carla Pemberton, Lynn Curfman and husband Donnie, and Patricia Wilde; his longtime friend, Rich Trujillo; and many other family members and close friends who will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Brock; his parents, Thelma and Buddy Popplewell and Carl and Rosa Lea Brock; and his infant brother, Danny.

In accordance with Wayne’s wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to North Central Hospice, 445 Fairview Avenue, Ponca City, Oklahoma, in appreciation for the compassionate care they provided. Also a huge appreciation to all of the amazing staff at Creekside Assisted Living for the last four years of patience and exceptional care.

Wayne will be remembered for his kind heart, hardworking spirit, love of music and the outdoors, and above all, the deep love he had for his family. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
