Daniel Lunn

July 26, 1949 — September 8, 2025

Daniel Lee Lunn (nicknamed "Bear" to those that loved him), left this world to take his place next to the Lord and his momma in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 7th, 2025.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2025, at Connect Church with Pastor Mark Busch officiating. Interment will follow in the Longwood Cemetery under the care of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City, OK. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025, with the family in attendance to receive friends and relatives from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Grace Memorial Chapel.

Born July 26th, 1949, to Norma Lee Wright and Garland Turner Lunn in his home at "Old Kaw City", Oklahoma before it was claimed by the murky waters we know today.

Daniel (Bear), to all that knew him was a man of many facets to his character. He seemed to be an individual that was larger than life. He cherished his beard and kept his long, flowing locks neatly braided

down his back. He carried himself with an air of calm dignity. Yet, for those he cared for he was lively and jovial. A gentle giant, a big ol' bear that was loved by all who knew him.

Daniel married his love, Anita Arant, on September 1st, 1970. The large family that followed their union was three boisterous boys, and one tomboy-ish girl. Throughout his life Bear seemed to have experienced everything a person possibly could. In his younger years, he was a jockey for racehorses and a talented artist that excelled in charcoal drawings. A veteran of war who fought bravely for the freedom of country and kin in the jungles of Vietnam. In the latter part of his life, he poured concrete alongside his three boys for many years. He'd exclaim with pride all the places he had helped create if he were to pass it by with the family and friends. You'll know his works from the signature he'd leave in the concrete at every job site. Two large bear paws. It's almost as if there's little pieces of Bear everywhere to be found. A man whose favorite sound was the roar of his motorcycle's engine on the long winding road to nowhere and everywhere. To walk through town with his favorite walking stick enjoying the quiet peacefulness of a beautiful day. A fisherman, a hunter, a hard worker. But if you were to ask him what his proudest achievements would be, the answer, we're sure, would be very simple things. Getting to spend 55 years loving his wife. Watching his Children: Donavon, Jason, Ashley, and Ryan grow up to be good human beings that raised families of their own. To be the best grandpa there ever was.

God's Gift

We give our loved ones back to God.

And just as He first gave them to us

and did not lose them in the giving, so

we have not lost them in returning them to Him...

For life is eternal, love is immortal.

Death is only a horizon...

and a horizon is nothing but

the limit of our earthly sight.

Daniel is survived by his wife Anita, his children Donavon, Jason, Ashley, And Ryan, his brother Gordon Lunn, his grandchildren Shelby, Shannon, Lindsey, Alex, Codilyn, Hunter, Bree, and Hannah, step-grandchildren Kelli and Echo., nine wonderful great-grandchildren, and three great-step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother Norma, father Garland, sister's Linda and Thelma, and Colton, his precious grandson.
