Don Clinton

Don C. Clinton passed away June 26th, 2025, with his family by his side. Don was 94, born April 3rd, 1931, to parents Charles Madison and Ida Franciscka (Rieck) Clinton in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Don spent his early years in Ponca City before proudly serving his country in the United States Army. His military service took him to many places, and he retired with the distinguished rank of Command Sergeant Major. A proud veteran, Don remained active in the American Legion and V.F.W throughout his life.

Don was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Ponca City, Oklahoma. His faith provided peace and balance in his life. He was a man of quiet strength and many talents. He was a skilled gardener, carpenter, and wood worker who found great satisfaction through working with his hands. A true lover of the outdoors, Don found joy in nature through hunting, fishing, and golfing whenever he could. His adventurous spirit, nurtured during his time in the service, stayed with him all his life, as he continued to explore new places and embrace new experiences. Above all, Don cherished his family. They were his greatest source of joy, and he never missed a chance to be in their company. His warmth, dedication, and deep love will be remembered by all who knew him.

Don left behind many who will continue to treasure his memory. He leaves behind his son, Donald C. Cook of Ponca City, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Michael Lewellen of Kansas, Sabrina Baxter of Pink, Oklahoma, Valarie Davis of Mcloud, Oklahoma, Nathan Heintz, Sr., Donovan Clinton, Jenna Brown, and Cody Clinton all of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Laurie Arbuckle of Oklahoma; his great grandchildren, Desiree Watson, Danielle Johnson, Chirstian Brown, Nathaniel Davis, Valda Davis, Corbyn Baxter, Kinzleigh Baxter, Nathan Heintz, Jr., Daelynn Heintz, Jerance Heintz, Joshuah Brown, Arianna Brown, and Aspen Brown; his great great grandchildren, Khloe Heintz, Thomas Heintz, Addison Watson, and Dennis James Brown, as well his many extended family members, nieces and nephews. Don will be joining his parents, his wife, three children, Valda Joe Short, Don C. Clinton II, and Jack Clinton, five sisters, and seven brothers.
