Gerell Len Oestmann, 71, of Newkirk, Oklahoma, passed away on October 22, 2026.

Gerell was born on November 9, 1954, in Cedar Vale, Kansas, to Albert Alvin Oestmann and Leila Leona Wolfe. He spent his early childhood in Grainola, Oklahoma, before moving to Newkirk in 1966, where he later graduated from Newkirk High School in 1973.

On May 22, 1976, Gerell married Ruth Ann Springer, beginning a life together centered around family. He loved hearing updates about his grandchildren’s lives, activities, and accomplishments. Gerell thoroughly enjoyed farming and working in his garden, which became well known throughout the community.

Gerell worked at Walmart in the Tire & Lube department until his retirement in 2022. During his time there, he became known to many as “Big G.”

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Oestmann; his son, Cody Oestmann (Terri) and his daughter, Hope Rader (Ryan). His grandchildren: Kaelie, Kamille, Tally (Walker), Wes, Kiera (Trevor), Rylinne, Rhett, and Remington. His family continues to grow with great-grandson Bennett and another great-grandchild on the way.

Gerell is survived by his siblings, Alberta Kahle, Radena Eisenhauer (Doug), and Darell Oestmann. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Leila Oestmann.

Gerell will be remembered by his family and loved ones for the life he shared with them and the memories they will carry with them. His life will be celebrated at a later date at the family farm.
