Glenda Kay Paul-Reyna passed away surrounded by her family Sunday, July 7, 2019, in Tulsa at the age of 60. Glenda was born on August 8, 1958 in Falfurrias, Texas to Glen and Sarah (Roughface) Paul.
The traditional Ponca funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 10th. There will be a noon feast followed by the funeral service at the Ponca Indian United Methodist Church in White Eagle.
Glenda Kay was raised in Victoria, Texas, attending St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and learning to be a faithful disciple of Christ. Living in South Texas allowed her to grow up with her San Antonio cousins. She graduated from Richardson HS in 1976. While attending Richland College, she met the love of her life, Michael Reyna. They were married on May 7, 1980 in Corpus Christi. They welcomed a son, John, and daughter, Jessica, to complete their family.
Glenda Kay was known for her love of family, friends and grandhearts. She was a generous, giving soul that took care of everyone around her. Glenda Kay loved fiercely, and was the guiding force in her family, running a tight ship. She was a God-loving individual who was courageous and a wonderful role model. She made sure to always have anything you needed in her bag, and everyone knew to ask Glenda Kay if they found themselves in need. She was a voracious reader, took pride in her role as a homemaker, and enjoyed needlepoint and sewing. She could be found helping at powwows and supporting the Ponca Hethuska, Osage clan, Tia-Piah and Lone Star War Dance. She also enjoyed road-tripping and seeing new places with her family. Glenda Kay was a member of the Ponca Nation and United Methodist Women. In her later years, her grandhearts became her reason for continuing her fight to live.
Left to honor Glenda Kay’s memory are her husband, Michael, children, John and Caroline Paul-Reyna, and Jessica and Brandon McBride, adopted children, Josh and Shannon Smith, Amy Lewis, grandhearts HallieKay, Hattie and HoneyBea, God sister, Jeannine Evensen, adopted siblings, Leland McCain, Brian Strye, Elizabeth Lewis, mother-in-law, Mary Drew, and sister-in-law’s, Linda Felts and Tish Pembrooke.
