Janice Marie Norvell, born Janice Marie Lee, passed away on September 16, 2026, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She was born on December 10, 1948, in Ponca City, and remained deeply connected to the community she called home throughout her life.

Janice will be remembered as a woman whose greatest joy was her family. She worked as a lunch lady, and in the lives of those around her she was known for warmth, familiarity, and a steady presence. She loved Sunday morning gossip with family and treasured the time spent on her sister trips. She enjoyed OU football, looked forward to the celebrations of the Fourth of July and Christmas, and was a number one Elvis Presley fan. She liked scary movies, loved to tease her brother-in-law, and had a special fondness for deer. Above all, she loved being with family, loved watching her grandchildren play sports, and cherished every moment shared with her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Norvell Sr.; her children, Shana (Scott) Carpenter, Robert (Maria) Norvell Jr., and Amanda (Matt) Jones; sisters Betty Hasselbring, Becky Goddard, and Cindy Empting and brother John Lee. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Wesley Carpenter, Kassie (Kevin) Penn, Chism Carpenter, Julian Cottman, Wyatt Brown, Kaily Jones, Robert Norvell III, Peyton Jones, Evangelia Norvell, Raysen Jones, and Ariana Norvell. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Shane Carpenter, McKenzie Penn, Landon Penn, Zayne Carpenter, and Taytum Penn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, all of whom were part of the wide circle of family she loved so dearly.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marcella Lee; her son, Stephen Luis; her sister, Roxann White; her niece, Kelly Khale; and her brothers-in-law, Kenny Goddard and Snookie Hassellbring.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on September 23, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Grace Memorial Chapel, 2016 N 14th St, Ponca City, Oklahoma. A graveside service will be held on September 24, 2026, 10:00 AM at Odd Fellows Cemetery, 1206 S. Waverly, Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Janice Marie Norvell will be remembered for her love of family, her joyful spirit, and the happiness she found in life’s simple pleasures. Her memory will live on in the stories shared around family gatherings, in the excitement of game days and holiday celebrations, and in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
