Jean Nightingale

Jean Nightingale former longtime resident of Ponca City, OK passed away on January 1,2017 in Tulsa, OK, she was 75 years old. She was bom Iva Jean Froese to Mable and Pete Froese on July 15,1941 in Enid, OK. She grew up on a farm south of Nardin, OK with her older sister Mary Lue and brother Arlan. She married Grover Pendergraft on August 28,1958 and they made their home in Blackwell. In 1961 she gave birth to their first son, Michael Alonzo Pendergraft, in 1965 she gave birth to their second son, Monte Austin Pendergraft, who passed away three weeks later. They moved to Duncan, OK in 1966, they then moved to Wichita Falls, TX in 1967. In 1970 they moved to Ponca City, where she worked in retail and as the switch board operator at the Ponca City hospital from where she retired in 2005.
She is preceded in death by her son, Monte, both her parents and her brother Arlan.
She is survived by her sister Mary Lue Froese, her son Michael Pendergraft and his wife Tracie, her grandchildren Lacey Green and her husband Aaron and Shelby Pendergraft. Her great grandchildren Zoey Green, Paisley Green and Graysen Green.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday in the Bible Methodist Church with Pastor McCormick officiating. Interment will follow in the Mennonite Brethern Cemetery northeast of Medford, OK Arrangements are in the care of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City, OK.
