John was a jack of many trades which led him to take multiple career paths throughout his life.
As a young man he joined the United States Army. Following his military career, he worked at a
series of other jobs that eventually led him to spend two decades working in the oilfields. While
working in Oil and Gas he participated in onshore and offshore drilling where he learned many
skills that led his path to his most recent career working in maintenance. The last 10 years he
has worked as a maintenance man at All American Pet Protein in Greeley, Colorado. With the
last 15 years of his life living in Weld County, Colorado, John's Most recent adventure led him to
Ponca City, Oklahoma. There, he had planned to retire and live out the rest of a peaceful life.
Throughout his work life and social life he has gained countless friends who were lucky enough
to call him family.
Known for his free spirit, playful personality, friendly and kind heart, and let's not forget his
orneriness, John was always the life of the party. John's zest for life was contagious. Whether
he was out with his friends or family at a local restaurant, bar, or Rockies game, gambling,
shooting, or being the great fisherman he was. He enjoyed his country music and classic rock.
Some of his favorite artists were Johnny Cash and Eric Church with his favorite song being
"Freebird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. His hobbies included spending time with his family and friends
especially his grandchildren, fishing, camping, cooking-out some delicious smoked meat,
working on his truck, watching Nascar and football as a die-hard fan cheering on the Denver
Broncos. His dedication to local military and veteran organizations like the Legion or the Eagles
club showed his desire to have fun and the size of his heart- big enough to include everyone he
met. He was always making someone laugh and feel seen.
We invite you to celebrate John's incredible life on December 20, 2024 at 3:00pm, at Eagles
Club (601 N 2nd St. La Salle, CO 80645). Let's all have a drink, tell a joke, and rejoice in his
memory. He will be missed dearly, remembered fondly, cherished forever, and endlessly Loved.
