Juanita Hinman

Juanita Hinman, 90, beloved Mother and Grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place on February 6, 2022. She was born May 28, 1931 in Etna, TN, to Connie and Lena Collier.

Juanita is survived by three daughter(s), Diana Tabor of Muskogee, OK, Shirley Moore of San Diego, CA, Rebecca Watts of Centennial Colorado and her son Phillip Tabor of Knoxville, TN.

She is preceded by her parents, her husband (Edwin), daughters (Janice and Mary), sons (Floyd and Wesley) and her sisters (Lois, Marie and Charlotte).

She is survived by 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Juanita and her husband Edwin raised the children in Denver, Colorado, where Juanita worked as the Manager of the Denver Dry Goods Warehouse until she retired and moved to Ponca City with her husband. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was an active member of the community and enjoyed working at the Voter Polls for many years, she also worked at Via Christi until she eventually retired at 75.

She enjoyed her many visits from her family and grandchildren of whom would travel from Colorado, Texas, Illinois, Tennessee and Kentucky to surprise and spend time with her. She also enjoyed her many road trips, and train rides to visit them. Her smile would light up the room when anyone stopped by to visit. Her humor and laugh were undeniably precious and endearing. She enjoyed many phone calls from family and friends.

She loved her family and was there whenever anyone needed her. She loved cooking for people and welcomed all in her home. She loved doing for other people, family, and friends alike.
She will sorely be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church on Saturday February 19, 2022 with Pastor Frances Bartley and Pastor Jimmy White officiating under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City, OK. Inurnment will follow in the Ponca Indian Cemetery.
