Louie Womack went to meet his lord and savior on October 31, 2026, at his home with his twin sisters by his side.
Louie was born August 12, 1946, to Elmer Lloyd Womack and Jessie Mae (Smith) Womack in Blackwell, OK. He attended Jefferson Elementary School, East Junior High School, and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1964.
Following high school he joined the National Guard, leaving to do six-month training in Fort Polk Louisiana. He continued serving for 6 years. He worked in the oil fields for a short time, as well as for Evans & Throop. In 1968 he went to work for the City of Ponca City where he worked for 40 years until his retirement in 2008.
In his early years he enjoyed boating and spending time at the lake with friends and family. He also enjoyed riding dirt bikes at several places including an area at Kaw Lake that is now underwater. Other places were around Keystone Lake and Red River New Mexico. Another of his interests was working on classic cars, owning a 1937 Ford for many years. He belonged to the Classic Cars Club of Ponca City. Where members traveled to car shows all over including Branson MO, Plano TX, Lincoln NE, Snow Mass, CO and Oklahoma City to the Southwest National car show for many years. He also went on trail rides with many friends and usually ended up playing and singing at the end of the day.
Louie had many lifelong friends whom he felt were family. They had years of good times together. Many of his friends’ children called him Uncle Lou. Most of his friends have already passed on and are waiting for him in heaven. What a great reunion.
Louie is survived by his twin sisters Barbara Long (Dennis) and Beverly Loney (Don). Nieces, Denise Powell (Randy) and Carrie Choney. Nephew, Brad Loney (Amy). Great nieces and nephews, Audrey Choney, Brianna Paul (Taylor), Brooklyn Green (Ben), Riley Loney and Regan Loney. Great-great-nephew Benson Green.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Jessie Womack. All his grandparents and many close friends.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Longwood Cemetery with Pastor Chris Short officiating. Pallbearers are Steve Bookout, Brad Scott, Brad Loney, Randy Powell, Kevin Ormand, and Mike Kelley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma and Northern Oklahoma Humane Society.
