Marcellus Lambert

January 21, 1935 — June 19, 2018

Marcellus Lambert died peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. He was 83. He was born on January 21, 1935 in Bridgeport, Oklahoma to Ambrose and Channie Lambert. Marcellus served in the US Navy during World War II and Vietnam, retiring after 15 years of loyal service. He enjoyed going out to eat, working on cars or lawnmowers or anything he could tinker on, as well as driving way to fast in his truck. He was a dedicated member of the American Legion.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Memorial Chapel in Ponca City. The reverend Timothy Johnson of Johnson Temple COGIC will officiate. Burial will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 10a.m. at the Veterans Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas. Military honors will be held at the cemetery. Pallbearers will include Ricky Lee, JR., Derrick Johnson, Josh Johnson, Mike Jones and Clarence Green.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his life, Lucretia M. Williams Lambert, one daughter Deborah Anderson of California, one step son Ricky Lee Jr., two step daughters Tanisha Hicks and Calinda Nunn all of Oklahoma, sister-in-laws Deborah Williams, Sherri Pollard and husband Raymond, Regenia Gates and Valarie Abington, two brothers Emmett Lambert of Oklahoma and Eugene Lambert of Missouri, four grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
His heavenly journey will be met by his parents, two brothers Paul and Ambrose, two sisters Mae Lambert and Ruby Cash, and mother-in-law Virginia A. Williams.
