Obituary

Michael Gene Owens, age 75, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, was called to his heavenly home on September 26, 2026. He was born on December 11, 1950, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Frank and Irene (Humble) Owens, who preceded him in death.

Michael (Mike) shared a lifelong love story with his wife, Vicky Owens. What began as childhood sweethearts turned into 58 loving years together. They built a life raising three boys and creating a family filled with love, laughter, and memories that will be cherished forever.

To his friends, he was known as Mike "Booger", but to his family, he was known as Pa. He was a hardworking man and a true craftsman who spent his life working with his hands. Throughout the years, Mike worked as a carpenter, mechanic and had a natural talent for building, fixing, and creating just about anything. If he could dream it up, he could usually figure out how to make it. At the time of his passing, Mike was still doing what he enjoyed, working at Creative Cabinets.

Mike loved to fish, and anyone who knew him knew that fishing was more than just a hobby, it was a lifestyle. Some of his favorite memories were made on the water, especially fishing tournaments alongside his son and grandson. Whether he was out on the lake or working on his latest project, Mike was happiest doing what he loved with the people he loved.

Mike is survived by his three brothers, Jim Owens, Tom Owens (wife Mary Owens), and Don Owens; his three sons and their families, Richard Owens, Don Owens (wife Rhonda Owens), and Lance Owens (wife Amy Owens); his grandchildren, Tara Owens (husband Matt Bristow) and son Dilan, Kali Owens, Trevor Owens (Kiera), Nathan Owens, and Alaina Owens; his two great-grandchildren, with another great-grandchild on the way; as well as many nieces and newphews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Vicky Owens, and his parents, Frank and Irene Owens.

There will be no viewing or service at this time. A graveside service for family and friends will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with loved ones as arrangements are made.
