Salvador Chavez-Barragan passed away on March 28, 2026, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Born on February 8, 1945, in Cotija, Michoacán, Salvador's life was marked by dedication to both his career and his cherished family.
Salvador was known for his unwavering love for his family. He loved to cook, delighting in preparing meals that brought his loved ones together, and he treasured every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Consuelo Mendoza Doñan and their children Salvador Chavez Mendoza, Eduardo Valencia Mendoza, Nestor Valencia Mendoza, Jose Maria Valencia Mendoza, Omar Valencia Mendoza, Manuel Mendoza, Gloria Valencia Mendoza, Maria (Nelly) Noelia Valencia Mendoza, and Soila Valencia Mendoza, 41 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Family, cooking, and shared moments were the cornerstones of Salvador's life, reflecting a man who deeply valued connection and togetherness. His presence will be missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on April 1, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Grace Memorial Chapel. The rosary will follow at the same location from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service to honor Salvador’s life will take place on April 6, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Ponca City. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Salvador Chavez-Barragan’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and all who were privileged to know him.
