Obituary

Steven was born in Ada, OK on February 16, 1994, and left this world on August 23, 2026, at his residence in Ponca City, OK at the age of 32. Steven was an enrolled member of the Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma descending from Warrior/Williamson Family. He was also a descendent of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Oklahoma, the Burgess Family Bear Clan, Apache Tribe of Oklahoma, Mono Lake Paiute. Steven lived in Ponca City for a majority of his lifetime, and lived in Red Rock, Perkins OK, Lincoln NE and as far west as Schurz, NV.

As a child Steven would only answer to Batman or Spawn, creating many funny stories for his family to cherish. If Steven wasn’t at work or spending time with his babies, he was most likely playing video games, listening to music, or sleeping. He would unselfishly make time to help anyone who needed him, from babysitting, tending his grandma’s frybread fire, to risking his own life running into a burning apartment to save a neighbor.

Even though he was an only child until he was 10, Steven was lucky to have grown up with numerous “brothers and sisters” but mainly Evelynn and Devin. These three sure gave their Grandma Leda most of her gray hair. The older he got the bigger his circle of brothers and sisters grew. Now it’s so large there are too many to list. Steven grew up calling everyone brother, sister, uncle, auntie, grandma, or grandpa!

Steven met his first love, his best friend, Sierra Weasel Bear in elementary school. The couple spent their school years together. They were blessed with three children; Marshall Creed, Micah Carter, and Marionna Cheyenne, don’t forget Shane the Dog!

Steven loved Sierra and his kids. He watched them play sports, took them to parks, long walks, looked for snakes, sat outside with them while they played on the trampoline, and showed them how to do a flip on the trampoline too! He would help them keep their room clean. Most importantly his kids knew they had a dad and he loved them. He never was mean to his kids and when he had extra money, he bought whatever they needed.

Steven loved so greatly that he was blessed with bonus children Koda Wade, Grayson Kent, Theo Owen, and Kylor Stone Weasel Bear. He lived a simple and humble life full of love and pride for his children.

Steven was employed with TPI Staffing Service since 2003, with his current position with Precision/Cadrex.

Steven is survived by his companion Sierra and their children all of Ponca City, his mother Stephanie and husband Jason Black of Red Rock, sister Myleah Brown of Perkins, and Jaxon Black of Red Rock, stepbrothers Jason Jr and Jaron, stepsister Kiara Black all of Red Rock, OK, Steven’s Grandpa Gary and Grandma Dawna Brown and family of Yerington, NV, dad Zach Vitamvas of McCord, OK. Since he met Sierra at such a young age, he was loved by her family as one of their own, mainly his bonus mom Gina Weasel Bear.

Steven was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother Leda Spotted Crow-Green.

Steven will be cremated with his ashes spread in Ponca City, Red Rock, and Nevada.
