Thomas Scott Baconrind passed in Ponca City, Oklahoma on November 8, 2023. He was born January 20, 1948, in Ponca City, Oklahoma to George and Gladys (Coleman) Baconrind. He was a great-grandson of Chief Baconrind. He began life in Newkirk, Oklahoma with his parents and brother, Andy. The family moved to Kansas when he was a small child. Later he graduated high school from Sedwick, Kansas with the class of 1966. He attended classes at Pratt Junior College, Wichita State University, and Fort Hays State University. He enrolled in Estate Planning in Reno, Nevada earning a Certified Estate Professional Planner and Master Estate Planner Designations. He enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1969 and served until 1975 receiving an honorable discharge. He served 8 years on the Standing Bear Educational Committee and for 6 years served in the Chairman position. He was an enrolled member of the Osage Tribe where he served on the Osage Gaming Trust Authority Board as 1st Vice Chairman. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his brother, Andy. No service is currently planned. Cremation is in effect.
