Victoria Long

June 5, 1950 — January 1, 2021

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Victoria Glynn Long, 70, of Pawhuska, OK. She was born in Staten Island, NY June 5, 1950 to John Fredrick James and Lucille Glynn (Stroud) James.  She graduated from St. Peters Girls High School in Staten Island in 1968. She graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK in 1972.

Her first marriage was brief, but brought her oldest son, Justin. On October 22, 1976 she married again to Paul Franklin Long of Pawhuska, Oklahoma. They had two more children, Dora and Joe.

She lived in Dewey, OK for many years, and in Bosler, WY for four years. In 1996 she returned to Pawhuska, where she worked at the Pawhuska police department as a dispatcher and eventually became the city court clerk. Ms. Vicki, as she became fondly known, had a huge impact on the hearts and lives of all who knew her.  She was strong in her faith and loved the Lord with all her heart.  Her legacy is huge to those in her life.  She was well known for her prayer warrior heart, her love and compassion, and her many talents.  She lived a very full life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Paul.

She is survived by her sons, Justin and Joseph, daughter Dora, eight grandchildren, and her sister, Susan James.

Also left to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy are her extended family, many friends, and a loving community.

A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2021 in the Elks Lodge of Pawhuska, OK
