Vincent Sheanard Anderson

March 25, 1956 — March 12, 2026

On March 25, 1956 , a stupendous baby boy was born to Chester and Gustavia [Ligons] Anderson, Sr., in Hoffman, Oklahoma. They named their precious gift Vincent Sheanard Anderson. A baby boy who brought joy, delight, laughter, chaos and much love.

Vincent, affectionately referred to as “Vince” and by family and friends as “Bootsie” spent his early years in Hoffman attending school in Hoffman and Morris. He graduated from Morris High school with the distinguished Class of 1974, where he excelled in basketball, football, and baseball. Vince attended Central State University, now the University of Central Oklahoma where he made and cultivated lifelong friendships.

Raised in a Christian, home Vincent learned to love Christ and accept Him as Lord and Savior. His heart was always with the Church of God in Hoffman, but believed in fellowship with the saints. He last attended New Life Baptist Church.

You can take the boy out of the country, but . . . During his life, Bootsie (directed by his brother Leslie) raised garden vegetables and loved his horses. It allowed him to share and to help bring smiles to many . Being outside brought joy to his life. On any given weekend he could be found in Hoffman planting flowers with his mother, building fences with his sons and brothers. It gave him joy to jump on the tractor and clear the pasture or work with brothers Phillip and Darryl cutting trees and burning brush.

Vincent was employed with Conoco Inc. in March of 1977. He moved with the company to ConocoPhillips, to Phillips66 and later moved to LiquidPower Specialty Products Inc. (LSPI), a Berkshire Hathaway company. He retired in 2021 as Senior Research Technician.

Never one to sit idle, Vincent was active in his community. He was a dedicated member of the Black Employees Network and served as a board member, Vice President, and Building Coordinator of the Attucks Community Alliance Board. He was a graduate of Leadership Ponca City. Moreover, Vincent faithfully supported the United Way of North Central Oklahoma and participated in fundraisers such as Jail and Bail. He worked with the City-wide Household Hazardous Waste Collection and volunteered at Garfield Elementary School with the Partners in Education (PIE) program. He was a Master Griller for the Communities Juneteenth Celebrations. For more than 35(?) years Vince was "that" umpire and referee on the softball and football fields and basketball courts. He was known for his fairness and no nonsense approach. He was not afraid to make the tough calls and to serve an occasional tech or eject someone from the field. He was well known, requested and traveled across the state often times with brothers Chester and Leslie.

He met and married Tonda Denise Frederick. Their union was blessed with three children; a son DeTroy Michael, his "baby" Natasha Shenice, and son Devin Sherrod. Later in life, he had a son, Kaydan. Vincent spent 26 years with his dedicated, faithful and staunch significant other and partner Deborah K. Sievert. They enjoyed tending the land, their animals, children and grandchildren and travels.

Vince was a loving Father and he supported his children in academic and athletic endeavors. He and his children traveled across the United States for games, meets, and tournaments. Vince beamed with pride when his children reached a dream of playing collegiate sports. Mike (track) at the University of Central Oklahoma. Natasha (soccer) at Oklahoma City University. Devin (football) for NorthEastern Oklahoma then Kansas State University. Nothing compared to the love and joy he felt watching his grandchildren Caydon, Carter, Payton and Grayson compete. Moreover, hearing and spending time with them. He was steadfast and loyal to his siblings, and friends. He enjoyed family, music, cooking, and being in the country under the big tree. He had a heart of gold that was pure, solid, and true.

In his 70th year (13 days from his birthday) Vincent Sheanard Anderson “dozed into the perfect peace of eternal slumber” with his face to setting sun, Thursday evening, March 12, 2026 in his home surrounded by family.

But His delight tin the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he mediated day and night. And he shall be like a tree planteth by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsover he doeth shall prosper”.
