Betty June Dixon, also known as "B.J." was born on February 12, 1930, at Billings, OK on the Dufek Ranch located 4 miles East, 2 miles South and 1/2 mile back West, the daughter of Helen Maxine (Hess) Dufek and Jess Dufek. B.J. lost her mother, Maxine at the age of 7. She lived with various Aunts and Uncles. Her dad, Jess later married Martha Bledsoe who brought a blended family together. She attended school at Billings and on October 20, 1947, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Delmar Dean Dixon in Oklahoma City, OK. They lived at Webb City for a few years as Delmar worked for Phillips 66, then moving to Ponca City in 1960 where they continued to make their home. They wanted Shane to attend school at the Lutheran Church. This Union lasted 30 years having one son, Shane Dixon, who was a 1973 graduate of Ponca City Senior High. Shane who became a well-known Hollywood Stuntman preceded them both in death in 1999. Even after the marriage ended, they continued to remain friends and B.J. continued to take care of him as his health began to decline. He died on August 1, 2015. B.J. was not afraid of hard work, she worked on the family farm doing whatever was requested of her to do, whereas, it be milking the cows, or driving the wheat truck or plowing the field. She made statement to the fact her dad made sure she went back and corrected the rows of the plowing to be straight! Apparently, she could not drive a straight line! B.J. worked a variety of jobs through her lifetime having worked at Johnson Drug; then Merle Norman Studio; Sanders Drug, The Rusty Barrell Supper Club, A Front desk Clerk for the Holiday Inn and finished up her working Career at the Quo Vadis Motor Hotel from 1978 to her retirement in 2018. She loved her job in the fact that she was able to meet so many people and made so many friends through the years. She was an Avon rep for over 40 years. Skin Care was very important to B.J. and her skin certainly showed that. BJ was a devoted member of the First Lutheran Church of which she was member of the Ladies Guild.

Anyone who knew B.J. knew she loved her Clothes, Her Jewelry and her makeup! She was also known for her various hats! B.J. worked hard all her life, she always was so eager to learn new things. "Expand my brain" she would say. After the loss of her beloved son, Shane, she told the Lord," I am going to do kind and good things every day." She loved "giving", whereas it be giving a cookie at the door for the postman, treats for her friends, the neighbors, she did her best to spread "kindness" everywhere, as God wanted her to do.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, her Stepmother Martha, Dufek; her son Shane Dixon; a stepbrother Buddy Bledsoe and Stepsister Betty Jo Crozier.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are numerous friends that became like family to her, too many in fact to list them all. She was greatly loved.

She is finally happy now with, her mother, dad, Delmar and Shane all being reunited again in Heaven.

Memorial Contributions may be made in her name to The First Lutheran Church, 1104 N. 4th Street,
