Donna Boyer

November 17, 1934 — November 4, 2020

VaDonna Jean (McAlister) Boyer was born on November 17, 1934 to John Henry McAlister and Dorothy Ellen (Hindes) McAlister in Ripley, OK.  God called her to her heavenly home on November 4, 2020 from her rural home near Marland, OK at the age of 85.

Donna grew up on a farm in the Bressie area and went to Tearney School until 8th grade.  She then went to Marland School graduating in 1952.  Upon graduation, she was employed at Conoco until she met Gerald (Jerry) Boyer.  They began their 52 year marriage on January 16, 1954.  They had six children whom she loved with all her heart; Cheryl, Cathy, Gerald, Robert, Kimala and Steven.  She instilled her kindness, generosity, honesty, work ethic and loving nature in each of them.  She went back to work at Conoco, retiring in 1996 with 25 years of service.

Donna was a busy farm wife.  She cooked and delivered many meals to the field as well as midnight suppers at the house.  She planted and tended a huge garden every year, canning and freezing the harvest.  Donna was also an avid quilter who lovingly created beautiful quilts for her children, 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  She also delighted in teaching her granddaughters homemaking skills and feeding her grandsons.

She was a great cook and crafter.  She enjoyed being a member of Bliss Homemakers and was famous for her chicken salad served in the Noble County Fair kitchen.  She ground her own wheat to make her award winning wheat bread. She won many ribbons for her crafts.

Left behind to cherish her memory are Cheryl (Butch) Bennett, Cathy Coffman, Gerald (Mary Ann) Boyer Jr., Robert (Jeannette) Boyer, Kimala Boyer,  Steven (Mary) Boyer.
