April 28, 1932 — October 23, 2019

Doris Lola Diltz passed away early Wednesday morning, October 23, 2019 at home with family in Ponca City at the age of 87.  She was born on April 28, 1932 in Byron, Oklahoma to Miles and Essie Ball, also at home.  Doris was the ninth child of twelve.

There will be a time of Visitation for Doris on Friday, October 25, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm at Grace Memorial Chapel, 2016 N 14th St, Ponca City.  A Funeral Service will be held in her honor at 1pm on Saturday, October 27, 2019, at the First Baptist Church, Ponca City with Pastor Brent McCoy presiding.  Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.

Doris grew up in Byron, Oklahoma graduating 1950.  Doris met and married her soulmate, Emory E. Diltz on March 6, 1955.  The couple made their first home in El Paso, Texas.  They later moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma in 1967.  Together they raised three children; Jody, Debbie and Mark.

Doris was a very generous, kind hearted, loving individual who would never leave anyone in need or want of anything.  She donated her time not only to the First Baptist Church and their congregation, but also volunteered at the Hospital and the election polls.  Doris was a marvelous cook and made sure no one went hungry by providing food for everyone during any occasion.  She is fondly remembered for the best fudge and peanut brittle in the country.  Doris would create Christmas goodies to share and even mail when needed. She enjoyed watching birds and would feed any that ventured into her yard.  Doris was all about family and her grandchildren were her world.

Surviving to mourn her loss are the children, Jody Ramsay, Debbie McMahan and Mark Diltz; grandchildren, Seth Ramsay, Sarah Coates, Allison McMahan, Josh Diltz, Beka Gregg and Nathan Edgington; great grandchild, Corban Coates; brother, Donald Ball; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
