Kenneth Hynd

February 11, 1935 — August 7, 2020

Kenneth Hynd, 85, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, was called to his eternal resting place on August 7, 2020. He entered this world on February 11, 1935, in Arkansas City, KS, born to James Hynd and Lucille Vanghn Bechtel.

Graveside memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2020, in the Newkirk cemetery under the care of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City. The family has asked Memorial contributions made in his name to St. John's Lutheran Church, P. O. Box 290, Newkirk, OK 74647 "Organ Fund" in lieu of flowers.

Kenneth grew up in Newkirk and graduated from Newkirk High in 1954. He met the love of his life, Wilma Meyer, and they were married July 9, 1955. They made their home in Arkansas City, KS and moved to west of Newkirk in 1960 to Farm. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, and he served as Elder and Trustee. Kenneth enjoyed farming, raising cattle, hunting with his son Mike and grandson Tyrel and spending time with family. Kenneth worked for Maurer Neuer packing in Arkansas City, KS for 30 years and Cowley County Community College, Arkansas City, KS for 15 years. He was also a member of the Peckham Volunteer Fire Department.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Wilma of 65 years, He is survived by his spouse Wilma Hynd. 2 sons; Mike Hynd and wife Marcy of Edmond and Ronald Hynd of Troy, Michigan 2 grandsons; Eric Hynd and wife Sabrina of Oklahoma City, OK and Tyrel Hynd and wife McRae of Edmond, OK, 1 granddaughter; Amanda Hynd of Canton, MI,  great grandchildren; Declan and Miles Hynd of OKC, OK and Callie Hynd  of Edmond, OK w/ baby on the way. 2 sisters; Maxine DeLong of Wichita, KS and Judy Bowling and husband Lee of Columbia, SC. also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents,1 brother; James Hynd, three sisters; Virginia Burkett, Betty Lewis and Catherine Bennet.
