Lyle Towse

January 19, 1932 — February 1, 2020

Lyle E. Towse died February 1, 2020.   He was born January 19, 1932 to Roy E. Towse and Tilla Mae Dennis Towse on the family farm in Plevna, KS.   He attended grades 1 thru 8 in a one room schoolhouse and graduated from Plevna High School.    He served in the U.S. Air Force from May 1952 thru 1956 during the Korean Conflict.   On March 10, 1953 he married Shirley Ann Jennings of Hutchinson, KS while stationed in Del Rio, TX.    Lyle was a truck driver for over 32 years.    He is survived by a sister, Ellen Lee of Humboldt, KS, three daughters; Connie (Gene) Evans of Omaha, NE, Rebecca (Eddie) Diebold of Ponca City and Jeanelle (Jerry) Wirtz of Ponca City.   He was “Papa” to Christy Stroebele, Mark King, Lisa Ingram, Jennifer Wirtz, Carrie Phillips, Steven King, and Bradley King and 11 great grandchildren.   He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, his parents, brother Gary Towse, and one great grandson.   A visitation will be held at Grace Memorial Chapel in Ponca City, OK on Wednesday February 5 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.   Graveside burial will occur Thursday, February 6th at 11:00 am at the Pleasantview Cemetery in Huntsville Community, Plevna, KS.
