Robert Brumley

February 2, 1954 — January 18, 2021

On January 18, 2021 one of the most amazing, kind, gentle and loving human beings took their last breath of life and entered into eternal peace and joy with God.  Robert Ambrose Brumley was born February 2, 1954 to the Reverend Doyal Brumley and Doni LaVelle Watson Brumley in Inglewood, California, the fifth of six children.

The family eventually came to Oklahoma, settling in Midwest City where according to Robert the family pulled up to an empty lot with Johnson grass higher than his head. Robert worked alongside his dad as a young boy building what would be Sooner Road Church of God.  This sparked a love of carpentry that would last throughout his life.

In his early years, Robert loved racing cars and reppin the 405 as an original street outlaw. He loved and excelled at martial arts and most anything else he turned his hand to do.  Robert loved fishing and was looking forward to getting well and breaking in his newest fishing pole and lures.  At 13 years old, Robert began working for his brother-in-law building swimming pools, and this led to an over 30-year career building and servicing swimming pools and spas in the Oklahoma City and Edmond areas.  He was very proud to have helped build the first black plaster pool in Oklahoma for the famous Coach Berry Switzer, as Robert was a die-hard Sooner fan.

In May of 1987 he met the love of his life, Patricia Anderson in the very church he had built alongside his dad, and he married her there in October 1988.  Together they raised their four children, Brittany, Jordan, Colton and Savannah in the Oklahoma City Metro area before moving to Marland, OK to help care for family.  In 2004 Robert began a new career with the City of Ponca City Solid Waste Division and worked there until taking a medical retirement in 2014.   He tried to be a daily encouragement and a witness for Jesus Christ to the young men who worked there.

Robert loved to joke and have fun no matter who he was with or what he was doing. He loved God, family, and country and will be missed deeply.  "Dad"- I will find you again. Love, "Mom"

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gilbert

Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 33 years, Patricia of Ponca City, son Wesley Brumley of Midwest City, daughter Brittany Brumley of Texas, son Jordan Brumley of Ponca City, son Colton Brumley of Ponca City, daughter Savannah Brumley of Ponca City, grandchildren Nathaniel, Alexus, Tristan, Imani, Gabriel, and Elijah.
